to statement that flaminco isn't from east india...
flamenco dancing was brought by the moores before the 13 century to spain by way of east india by traveling -migrating gypsies. as a former pairs figure skater & study dance in asia and europe, as well as my minor at steven's college, columbia, missouri, 1979, i beg to differ. i volunteered/interend as tailor - costumer - 3 different summers as costumer for the joeffrey ballet and 1 year at the london ballet company. most recently i attended and did sketches of an east indian dance troupe before leaving chicago. besides, my step grand mother is a gypsy and thier religous beliefs are also linked to their genetic and cultural links with rome, turkey and eat india, etc. as a wandering people they often mated with others from countries that they happened to be in... being born in europe & schooled all over and the world - help broaden one's approach to histroy and culture, a wee bit differently. i stated dance in japan then belgium, agrentina, brazil and so on... while in college i studied, music, art, theatre and dance at juillard and usc summers workshoppes - 1970's.
i m not a choreographer. but i, also, have study dance in spain & mexico, though it was over 15 years ago. please, where out side off the states have u study? (as a figure skater, i made it to nationals in japan 2 times, greece 3 times and in britan 2 more times...) i m old, but well educated & traveled
